Settings
Time related
- Base Unit
- This determines what period of time one column in the table views represents.
- Date format
- Choose International (yyyy-mm-dd), US (mm/dd/yyyy) or UK (dd/mm/yyyy) format.
- Minute, Hour, Day, Week, Month and Year formats
- These formats determine how the time period columns in the table views are shown.
- Start date and End date
- These are the first and last dates in the Resource Plan. You can enter bookings outside these dates, but the movement buttons
and
will take you to the start and end dates respectively. You can either type in a date in the Date format above, or click on the
button to pop up a calendar to help you choose the date.
- Start and end of working day
- These are the times of the start and end of each working day - they are used as default times when booking jobs when the base unit is a day or more.
Display related
- Default text color and background color
- These are the default colors used if no color is chosen for a job, task or resource. To change the color, click on it, and choose the new color from the pop-up window.
- Working days
- Check the working days in the week. Working days are shown in white in the table views, and non-working days in gray.
- Number of columns to show in tables (0 for default)
- The default number of columns to show in table views depends on the Base Unit (above) - e.g. 1 month for Day, 24 hours for Hour. However, if you prefer to see a different number of columns, enter the number here.
- Underline jobs for which there are actions over ? days old
- If a job has actions associated with it which are overdue by this number of days, the job will be underlined in red. Enter 0 if you do not want overdue actions to be highlighted.
- Time Zone
- If your time zone is different to that of the server running ResourcePlanner, you should set your time zone here. Any standard Unix time zone will do (e.g. GB for the UK).
- Default filter
- If you want a particular filter to apply by default, select it here.
Contact related
- Default password
- When allowing contacts to log in, if you set a default password here and leave the contact's password blank, they will be assigned this default password.
- Force change on first login
- If this box is checked, the first time a new contact logs on, they must change their password.
- Email backups to
- You can email backups to any email address - enter the address to use here.
Options
- Show Job notes in a popup
- Check this box to activate a popup window containing the notes for a Resource, Task or Job when you hover your mouse over the item in a table view.
- Show Booking notes in a pop-up
- Check this box to activate a popup window containing the notes for a Booking when you hover your mouse over the item in a table view.
- Check for double bookings
- Check this box if you want ResourcePlanner to warn you about double bookings (when the same resource is booked for two different jobs at the same time).
- Show today in a different color.
- Check this box to show today's date in a different background color in table views.
- Allow only one primary resource per job
- This prevents two primary resources from being booked onto the same job.
- New jobs are provisional.
- Check this box to set all new jobs to provisional status by default.
- Cancel
- Pressing this button will discard any changes, and return you to Resource View.
- Apply
- Pressing this button will write any changed details back to the database, but leave you in the same screen.
